CANADA MAKES HISTORY + LEGALIZES RECREATIONAL CANNABIS

TODAY [OCTOBER 10TH 2018] is a historic day in Canadian and International history, as the country legalizes recreational cannabis nationwide.

Nationwide cannabis legalization makes Canada the second country worldwide, and the first G7 nation, to legalize recreational cannabis.

The access and regulations for recreational marijuana varies across the country, including age restrictions, consumption laws, and how to purchase via online, brick and mortar stores, public and private sector dispensary options. For us here in Toronto, Ontario, the Ontario Cannabis Store, an online portal managed by the government launched at midnight at www.ocs.ca. The current OCS product availability includes: dried flower, oils/capsules and pre-rolls from various Canadian LPs (Licensed Producers) which include SAN RAFAEL (the retail brand under MedReleaf, and one of our event sponsors for a past event this summer), UP (part owned by The Tragically Hip), and AURORA (one of the largest Canadian LPs and one of the most active stocks on the TSX). Also available on the OCS site are cannabis accessories, including vaporizers, grinders, trays and bongs. Although edibles are not yet available, there are plans to include this next year. The OCS store will be the only legal recreational purchasing option for the next 6 months, with plans to allow private brick and mortar dispensaries to operate within the province of Ontario.

The ‘Ontario Cannabis Store’ online e-commerce portal already experience high volume of orders after just launching at midnight on October 17, 2018.
